Update 6/15/21: The enabling of auto-updating was delayed until today. It is now auto-updating during idle as expected. (If you let it idle prior to today, the update did not occur, so you'll want to try again.) However, some users are reporting that after the update completes, the application does NOT automatically restart, and if they try to open it, they get a message that the application quit unexpectedly; if this happens to you, please restart your computer and then open Kaltura Capture again.
Starting January 6, 2021, at 8 am, whenever any campus member uses their UC Berkeley Zoom account to host a meeting that is recorded to the Zoom Cloud, the resulting recording will be automatically copied to UC Berkeley’s campus video management system, Kaltura. One of two things will happen:
If the Zoom account owner has no Kaltura account, the recording will be deleted from Kaltura within 24 hours (this does not affect the Zoom Cloud recording, which will still be available in Zoom for 30 days). It will never be shared with anybody else....

A new version of the Kaltura Capture desktop application has been released. You can verify the version that you are using currently on the splash screen when the application is opening; the previous version was 4.2.83 and the new version is 4.2.110. (If you miss the splash screen, click the Manage link and then switch to the information tab.)
We recommend updating, as 4.2.110 fixes bugs which have resulted in problematic recordings. Specific issues resolved:

Syncing issues with video and audio have occurred with longer dual-stream videos (i.e. those in which you capture both Camera and Screen). To avoid these issues we recommend that you:
Make short videos. For the best results when recording dual-stream videos, keep recording time short, 6 to 10 minutes. Additionally, when it comes to playing back dual-stream videos, giving the video time to load on the bCourses page and/or refreshing the page can reduce sync issues with longer videos; you may want to alert your students to this,...
